Another class-action lawsuit is being filed against Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc., this time based on the fees it tacks onto the final ticket price.

The $250-million suit claims that Ticketmaster Canada's terms of use state that it abides by Ontario law.

In a release, the law firm behind the action notes that Ontario law precludes the selling of tickets for a price higher than the price at which they were first issued.

Lawyer Jay Strosberg says the law in Ontario is very clear, and he's hopeful that the court will enforce the legislation.

Consumers in every province and territory except Ontario can join the action.

On Monday, a $500-million suit was launched in Ontario alleging that Ticketmaster broke the province's anti-scalping laws by directing consumers to its resale site TicketsNow.

Strosberg says his office has been inundated with hundreds of calls, which prompted the move to go nationwide with another suit.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.

The second case was launched by an Edmonton consumer who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster for performances by David Byrne and Jay Leno.

He says the Byrne ticket was originally priced at $55.50 but ended up costing $71.75 after a building/facility charge of $1.65, a convenience charge of $10.25 and a $4.35 processing fee.

The Leno ticket was listed at $79 but he was also charged a convenience charge of $5 and a $2.50 order processing charge, bringing the total to $84.60.
